Crossed Hearts is the second novel in beloved bestselling author Barbara Delinsky's Matchmaker trilogy about a woman who makes up crossword puzzles for a living-and a man who just might be the answer to L-O-V-E in her life...
Leah Gates always enjoys a good challenge-with words or otherwise. Still, she should have known better than to leave New York City for this. Knee-deep mud, lashing rain, a burned-down cabin...so much for the R&R that she hoped to find in rural New Hampshire. What had her friend Victoria Lesser been thinking?
Woodsman Garrick Rodenheiser was stunned and wary when Leah turned up shivering on his porch. A beautiful woman, miles from nowhere, spelled trouble for him. But he couldn't just slam the door in her face-or shut out the storm of passion that raged between them...

I was an avid Barbara Delinsky reader for many years, but then I quit. About a week ago I decided to try the Matchmaker Trilogy. Big mistake! Because after the first book in the trilogy I remembered why I quit reading Ms. Delinsky -- her book are utterly formulaic, heavily clichéd, and utterly predictable. Notwithstanding, and with no one to blame but myself, I soldiered through two of the books and half of the third, when I finally turned off my Kindle in complete disgust.Quite frankly, if you've read the first book in Delinsky's Matchmaker Trilogy you've read them all -- opposite personalities (one or both broken) forced to live with one another in near isolation, each finding real love "for the very first time" (Delinsky wants us to know this because she repeats the phrase over and over and over ....) The plots -- if they can really be called such -- are weak and contrived. And some of the characters (like Noah, in the last book) are not remotely likable.
Too bad because I recall books, like Accidental Woman and Coast Road, which I adored. But I am now done with Ms. Delinsky once and for all.

Crossed Hearts A Matchmaker Trilogy Novel edition by Barbara Delinsky Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews
I enjoyed this second book of the trilogy better than the first book. It was not as predictable and had more depth.
Good read
Really enjoyed the romance. Would highly recommend this trilogy. Looking forward to Book 3. Always enjoy Barbara Delinsky's stories. Look forward to more summer reading.
This was an interesting story and well written. It was interesting to the end. This is the first of a trilogy books. Enjoyed and Barbara was writing all three books. Would highly recommend all three books.
I love this story and the author. When I first read it on paperback form. But this kindle edition, the one I received anyway, is five chapters long and I don't have the ending.
I give Five stars for the story content that I read previously. But , I give the edition a 2 1/2 stars for being incomplete.
Hope they get it fix soon with a update push.
I enjoyed the. Story line but I didn't think the extensive sexual description was really necessary . The plot and characters were great and could survive on their own.
..
Excellent story. Extremely well written. Easy to identify with characters. Surprises along the way. Really didn't want to put it down. Highly recommend.
